If you enjoy reading and feel you’d like to discuss your impressions of a book with others, why not try Green Hammerton’s book club – GH Readers? The group meet monthly to discuss a book chosen by the members. The discussion is informal and open-ended. It’s about having a chat about what the book meant to you and hear what others made of it. We read all types of books, but they are mainly contemporary fiction with a few classics and non-fiction thrown in for variety. Monthly meetings are held in the village hall and last about an hour. We source most of our books from the local library so often there is no need to buy them, although there is an annual subscription to cover the costs of the hall and library reservations.
